jd_1260Was up there today just on the verge of snow/rain at the lodge. If anyone wants to go for some runs sometime let me know I'm up there most days
jcahow's the snow up high? it rained to the top of Red today..
SMoriI have been planning to come out with some buddies next week for reading week. Looks like freezing level and temp is supposed to drop after the weekend so do y'all think it would be worth it to come out?
DrailHot pow. I found it shitty on skis, but the snowboarders liked it enough to go back for seconds tomorrow. Rain runnels till about 1900M, super wet "pow" above. Hard to make proper turns - but decent enough for landing in. Super foggy today, but I figure if the sun comes out it could be good snow for some booter missions?
Freezing level is spiking on Thursday so things could change (most likely for the worse) before the warm spell is over.
SMoriThat's what I figured
Saw that it is going to spike Thursday/Friday but then drop way down on Sunday and we would be skiing Monday-Thursday. I feel like it's not much better anywhere else though and our only other option is Rogers which would be pretty sketchy after this whole warm spell.
freestyler540Been riding almost every day at Whitewater for the past 3 years. Im just waiting for a park to be reopened. Huge props to the park crew, you guys are my heros.
Come and hit some laps with me. Black giro helmet (bunch of stickers), bright green oakley with dark iridium lens, black Oakley coat and forest green Burton pants. if I ride park: Rossi scratch 2013 and if all mountains: head Ventury 95, the black ugly ones with green mountings.

jd_1260Man it was icy up there today. Falling hurts
DrailSo I'll admit. I was in the park today briefly and I'm pretty sure I saw you guys but I was on my own agenda. My bad. That spine has a flat ass landing, but damn it felt good to touch metal again (been a few years). I'll say hello from now on - based on current conditions I think I'm gonna get my park game back to form.
If you see me and I don't see you - name is Darryl: red jacket, green pants, black helmet.
freestyler540Yeah guys, be careful these next few days; falls are not forgiving. I skipped out of the park today for some hiking up Silverking ridge for some pictures. Did a lap down the park as last run.
I asked the guys to kick up the hip jump because its way too flat. They did add some snow to the flat-down rail, now the feature is perfect again! They will be using the course to replace to Powderkeg venue. Ill be going for king this year!
Oh Guys, I forgot. I am organizing a BN (butt naked) run down the second part of Blast (near the dragon) at 1pm on Friday of Coldsmoke. Nudity is not manditory, but I think it would be a great way to introduce coldsmoke weekend for good luck. Meet me at 12:50 on the summit ski way from glory cat track and Blast under the chairs and lets do this! Did it last year and it was awesome!
Kim_Jong-IllestHey guys i'm planning on moving to nelson next year and I was wondering what kind of skis would I need. I have some shreditors 102 but do I need a fatter ski? I'm coming from the east coast so I don't know much about the snow condition out in bc[/Q
I would say to aim for a 115 + underfoot you could probably get away with a 110 but the bigger the better. and if your a park rat like I was don't center mount them get them a couple cm back it will help you float better in the deeper snow and you won't notice it when riding switch unless you get a traditional mount.
CorinBumping this thread a bit!
Me and the girl are most likely heading to Nelson the coming Jan and Feb, to ski Whitewater and tour around the backcountry. Anyone have any tips for accomodation? We've found a couple places but it's not exactly cheap.
Any other things we need to think about or tips in general?
Will post here when we get there, would be cool to meet some locals!
Thanks!

thedanimalplanning on moving out to nelson after school and wanted your opinion on touring skis. would something like an armada TST with marker duke or baron do me good? or should i invest in a REAL touring set up? not looking to get hefty into touring but would like to do it a bit pre season and some shorter skins just to access new zones, which i hear there are many within a short skin for WH2O lifts.
Kim_Jong-IllestIt you'd be alright as a touring setup but i would invest into some wider in the 112-120s rangefor those big pow days
PhilboydStudgeHey man, me and my friend are also moving to Nelson for just January and February, maybe into March. We already have passes so it's a done deal. My aunt and uncle live in Nelson and said we could crash with them for a bit but we want to look for somewhere to rent. We're also trying to live cheap so we're looking into dirtbag options. If you find somewhere bigger than for 2, hit me up, we could be down.
If anyone has any ideas for dirtbag living in Nelson, hit me up! We'd love to find someone's RV or trailer that they aren't using in the winter and live in that.
CorinBump! Anyone here?!

PhilboydStudgeYeah man! Been here for 2-3 weeks now, riding most days at Whitewater or side/backcountry. It's been fantastic.
This is a little shameless, but it's come to that... can anyone point me somewhere to get weed? Jah is not providing. I'm sure we could go ask people on Baker street but I hate doing that, so now I'm here. Help me out!

CorinNice, been here for two weeks now too. Been amazing, no doubt. I'm in a (long) bright green jacket and black pants. Blue Poc helmet, Dynafit Beast. Give me a shout if you se me!
I don't smoke, so no idea about the weed.
