Running a higher din setting on your heel

So I I've always had my Marker Squires set at 7 which is what the guys at the shop told me. Recently though as I've been progressing, I've started doing nose butter's and nose presses and so on I started popping out, I talked to the guys at the shop again, and they said maybe try turning the din on the heel up so I did, but it wasn't enough, after I a couple tests I turned it all the way up to 10 and I quit popping out. Now I'm concerned after reading some threads that this was a bad idea.

Yeah they legally should not tell you anything like that... as far as you popping out goes, does the heel piece still eject when you fall normally? If so there isn't an issue but if its still engaged after every fall you should turn it down

I mean they are marker squires so.... But yeah your pushing their limits and they easily could break at 10.

Not really supposed to run different DINs on the front and back of your bindings according to everything I have ever been told. I would try to run them both at the same setting for your safety. If you keep popping out get new bindings, the fact you're using Marker Squires is probably like 80% of your ejection problem.

Yeah, they popped off doing a 360 the other day when I caught an edge, I guess I'll turn the toe up too. I'm going to be upgrading skis so I'll probably pick up a Marker jester this time. Thanks

You might not even need jesters tbh but i guess if your din is at like 10 already maybe then...

I do the same thing. People may call me an idiot but here's my reasoning so the shop set me at 8. I always pre released doing butters, muted, 180s ect. So I cranked both toe and heel to about a 9.5. It's perfect. I only release when I want to. So I have the toe piece din dialed. As for heavy 180s and switch I still come out. I ride the heels of my fks at 10.5/11. They only release when I want them too and I found this to be perfect for me. Call me a goober, but I've had some bad wrecks and no injuries..... Besides shin bag... Ba dum tss
