Replying to Kick turn to switch?

I was skiing Saturday and I was some guy do like a kick turn, the kind you would do while skining, from skiing normal to skiing switch. It wasn't a real kick turn, it was kinda sorta one though. He picked his foot up, crossed behind his other leg, and turned it around, and put it down while kinda jumping and spinning around. He had flat tails, too. ( like wtf?) What is this thing he did? it looked like something out of a ski ballet, and he dressed like he was in one, too. What's it called? Is it steezy?
