sorry what. the presses are heavy as hell and they aren't even slightly symmetrical so their swingweight is not very good.

for the thread though, being a huge fan of everything on3p does, the filthys or the kartel 98s are beyond fun on everything especially rails

Probably a pro that destroys the jib game and has a signature ski. I'm gonna say something like the armada b dog or maybe the t wallisch line chronics. But probably just a bit more of a flexier ski because it will help with butters and presses and what not. Maybe even the armada al dente would be pretty good.

Yeah, other than spin weight and like the width of the ski, I don't think anything else would make a noticeable difference on the rail. For butters or presses that's a different story, and the lip, but for real if you just do rails get something super playful that's not too wide and is durable.

really depends on what type your looking for. Like a good durable ski that will last on rails for a good amount of time (but it will probably be heavier) or a lighter and less durable ski for rails.

softer sidewall underfoot? helps absorb more impact on the edges which leads to fewer bow outs

5th element darwin hands down best skis. They are so durable the edges never come out and the topsheets never chip! They were only $130 but they are worth so much more

Sorry what? The chronics are not Tom Wallisch's pro ski. They've existed way longer than he has been on line.

Instead of just naming my favorite ski here are a few options thats will work. Overall your probably gonna want something light, poppy and easy to do quick spins with, so something symmetrical, unless ur into the whole edollo brog style. A few good options would be afterbangs for the same reasons mentioned before also k2 domains cuz try have a good job rocker and are built prett much specifically for rails. Also volkl steps and ledges are a good options, the steps are are poppier cuz they have a carbon layer in the core but other than that they have they same construction and Ahmet uses steps in all his urban rail edits. But really anything symmetrical with an even swing weight would work which gives you a pretty wide range of options.

I've got the domains and they're great for rails, tons of pop and lightweight.

Biggest thing I can contribute for ski type is for the rocker/camber profile, a little-alot of tip and tail rocker stops catching, and minimal to no camber (flat underfoot) makes surface swaps crazy fun. Only downside to having a ski like this is that your nollie game off rails isn't as solid compared to a full camber ski.

Line afterbang 100%, they're heavy at first but once you get used to them they're nice as fuck. and they'll last you awhile

I have been using Ledges all season and can't complain at all. Really light and being symmetrical really helps with everything to.

I'm curious if wider skis really are easier on rails. I feel like they are but maybe its just psychological. Obviously wider means more swing weight but an extra cm or two seems to feel more stable

If you want good rail skis, READ THIS.


Get symmetrical skis that you mount dead center. I'm fucking with my halos right now and I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of the off-center mount. They have a little rocker in the front so you mount them a little bit back and it's definitely enough to make a difference on rails.

My ideal rail ski is something light and poppy that is cambered and fully symmetrical.

Everyone's opinion is different though- some people like huge a underfoot but I say 80 is good for me.

i believe it does. i grew so much when i was younger that i went from k2 juvys to line anthems. going from my anthems (93mm underfoot) back to my juvys (75mm underfoot) was a notable stability difference.

but i also really think the difference is negligible for your most decent skiers
