eazy.I was in the same situation as you except my issue was my collarbone.
I want to start this off by emphasizing, IT CANT BE ANY MORE SERIOUS THAN A CONCUSSION. It's your head bro, your fucking brain, if you fuck it up, thats it bud. Fucking laying in a hospital bed unable to talk, walk, or do any activity otherwise until some destroyed family member of yours decides to pull the plug on your life.
Now, I'll talk about what happened to me in your position and what I regret about it. So i broke my clavicle playing football, it healed up but i was still 2 weeks away from being cleared to start doing tricks and shit. Me, being a dumbass, decided to do some 2s on. Well they went great, until they didn't, long story short i fell on my shoulder and re broke my shoulder. I havent done anything more than slide a rail for the last month and a half of my winter. All I'm saying is, its 2 weeks versus the duration of the season. I've literally regretted it since the moment i fell. This was going to be a great season for me, i had it all planned out, and now I havent been able to do shit. On that note, you can decide for yourself...
JOTTOIf anyones curious i ended up feeling really good and doing it. I dont regret it at all i took 3rd!
HamburgalerI have had 5 concussions now, 2 of them from skiing. After my 5th my doc diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome and put me on weekly medication which limits the blood flow to my brain so I don't have constant migraines. Concussions can really mess your head up but as long as you wear a helmet and don't get too many like me you should be fine.
