yo,
So earlier this season I asked about which bindings I should get (Attack or Peak series) and I went with some 17 Din Peak series FIscher bindings. I spent a lot of time looking for a bindings that would do the job. I have had serious problems with Marker bindings (never put any high end marker bindings to the test though), I have FKS bindings, but wanted to mix things up after breaking a few pairs, and I see people who put high strain on their bindings using tyrolia (Casabon, Thall, Seaton, Perron, etc) so I thought they would be a great choice.
got the pair on my skis and set them to 10.5 (5'11" 150lbs). This is the number I put on my fks so I was very comfortable with them at this din.
During christmas break, temps dropped, and there was ice. I would be taking it relatively easy, landing switch on edge, and my ski would twist to have the bases flat on the ground while my boot was still in the angle of having my ski on edge (think clicking in, but not stomping down hard enough to have the heel fully lock down, and for the toe, think vertical release, but without enough force to actually eject). I would land like this multiple times every run, and I could just roll my boot to have my soles flat on the binding, and my bindings would click back in. THis has happened dozens of times every day. Sometimes the binding would release my boot without actually having me eject enough that I would lose edge control and wash out. I had my forward pressure adjusted 3 times at two different reputable shops. THere was no ice in my bindings, and this would happen even on my first run of the day.
I also have problems with full pre-releasing on switch landings. I have pre released on small tricks (180, sw 3, 5, etc) for really no reason at all. THis should not be happening with my din setting at all.
My question is, what do you guys think is wrong, and is it possible that this is a defective pair of bindings?
