First edit with the canon 10-18, feedback plez

Alright so I've used it a few times before but this was it's first real test with the big park opening at our local mountain, I'm mainly searching for critique on the filming here but feedback for the editing is welcomed too.

P.S: For those thinking about buying the lens it's pretty good in sunny conditions but it's really not that good in flatlight/ low light, so if you have a bit more money I'd say spending more for a 11-16-ish lens is worth it.

What do you mean by this? How would this lens be worse in the flatlight? Because its fstop is higher?

Yes, especially when shooting at 18 your fstop is at 5.6

5.6 should be fine for basically any light until you're into past sunset/before sunrise.

that's what I meant by low light, for the flatlight it's okay I guess but I just personnally find it less comfortable since I'm still working on properly exposing my shots.

Okay, i just was making sure people werent misunderstanding what you said. Its absolutely fine for flat light.

That was pretty sweet but try changing up your angles instead of always being directly to his right side. Behind, to his left, even slightly in front. Swerve over the knuckle and change it up during the shot as well, it just gives it a better flow and dynamic. Lighting looks good although it was consistently a little cold. Maybe bump up the sound on landings and rails to match the beat of the music, as well as your transitions or any points that could sync up with a beat.

Thanks! For the sync of the sounds I'm currently trying to figure how to get the best sound out of my mic. For the angles I'll try to switch them fosure as soon as I get more comfortable with the lens (I'm switching from fisheye so I was used to something wider)

Also first year filming with a mic, do you guys usually retouch your sounds in Adobe Audition or other software or is there some tricks to get a better sound directly out of the mic. My mic is a Senal CS-88, not the best mic in town but I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the best out of it.

Yes it gives very good results for the price, if your video budget is similar to mine (supa broke) it's a really good deal.

Yeah, this is a solid lens for video, and it's totally outpriced the 10-24 into oblivion.

I'm in between this lens and the tokina 11-16. Any suggestions as to which one I should get.
The primary use for the lenses would be to film skiing, although I would like to be able to take some landscape shots as well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
I currently have a tamron 17-50 as well as a tamron 70-300.

Thank you. Flat light outside is still better than most light you would find inside buildings. Natural light in general is just much better for cameras. Don't say a lens is "bad" for flat light. Maybe flat light in general sucks because its really hard to make out lines/shadows especially on film where the dynamic range is already less than that of your eye. Considering that the human eye already has problems seeing in flat light, I would say any camera lens combo would have trouble in flat light.

The Tokina is going to be a much better lens, but this will work if you're on a bit more of a budget I guess. I'd say it's worth it to go for the Tokina though - it's built far better, is way sharper, and has very minimal distortion and flaring. There's a reason why everyone on here absolutely gushes about it.

Also consider the Tokina 12-24 f4 as a great affordable option too. The reach it gives you as a single lens makes it my favourite of the bunch and it comes in the same body as the 11-16.
