Official How To Find a Crew/Friends To Ski With

Seems like this comes up every few days so why not. If you have any tips go ahead and throw them in.

Be social. Even if you're scared to talk to new people just force yourself to do it. Say hello to people in the park, hike with people, talk to the people on the chairlift, ask people for advice on tricks, congratulate people that are throwing down. Just talk to the people around you. There are some dicks out there but for the most part everyone is just there to shred.

Spend time in the park and talk to people and you'll have some people to cruise with in no time.

I got all of my friends from the internet. So if real life isn't working for you just know that you always have newschoolers.

just be hyped on a good day of skiing. you'll make friends by being a positive energy in the park/on the lift

if you have the money, joining a freeski team might not be a bad idea. It'll help you make friends to shred with and help you improve upon your own skills as well.

5. don't act too cool for school wearing headphones all the time
6. dont ride anyones jock

Compliment someone on a trick and give some knucks, pole high five, etc. (try your best to be genuine) and then throw something way bigger. Instant respect

If you need a "how to" guide about how to make friends and associate yourself with people, you probably have bigger issues to focus on instead of relying on Newschoolers advice.

Some people are young, awkward and don't know how to make friends on the hill. It happens, ad it's just life.

Yeah man. I expect this to be a 63 page thread by the weekend. I figured I'd steal all the viewers and karma from the other thread.

Actually have replied the same thing to this same thread made 6 or 7 times this season and just said fuck it. Will people probably make a new thread anyway? Of course, but I tried. Same with the wisdom teeth thread I made 5 years ago.


But yeah man, you caught me in the act. When this thread get's 63 pages and everyone is talking about how cool I am for making it I'll have achieved my goal.

I ride to find friends and people that think like me. Rarely, I get some awesome people who ride with me the entire day, party at night and get a great contact.

The problem is that the hill has been a ghost town since december. I am getting angry for 98% of the locals dont even bother showing up.

But seriously: if anyone is around Nelson, BC message me up for a ride up the hill! (see what I did there)

Park Skier: "what are you talking about"
Me: ":("

or another situation

Me:"Hey how do you get to chads gap?"
Skier: "Ahhh you're one of those newschoolers"
Skier: Skis away
Me: :(

I usually just approach other skiers and compliment them on something there wearing or if I know there not a local I will ask them where there from. Or give props to sick tricks. Then continue on and on with the conversation.
