So this is my first year skiing ever and so far all I've hit is a 30 foot jump but today at the park I saw they had rebuilt some of them and they were 50-60 feet and I was wondering what it feels like to go off a jump that big?
Similar to jumping really high on an Olympic trampoline for the first time, or hitting a huge dirt jump on a bike.
If you are considering hitting that jump, do it. It's only bad riding up to it, it looks scary. Just look at it for 3 seconds, drop it, and don't turn back.
Dont let me get to you though, I'm a huge pussy when it comes to bigger jumps. Just take the right mentality in, know that you are going to stomp it, don't even think about it, just drop it.
If it's a properly built jump that is, otherwise I won't fuck with them.
Well built big jumps are awesome. I had a pass to mount snow the first year they had the dew tour. Lapped inferno so much that year. Never crowded other than the really warm spring weekends and always perfect. Lot's of tranny, and huge steep landings with absolutely minimal compression.
IT really depends on how they're built. I'd rather hit a perfectly built 70' than a jenky 35'.
