So for the last two summers I've been able to work for ERA helicopters flight seeing at their Denali base.
This year I've been given permission to post and ask as many people as I want to apply to the position of ground crew for Denali and Juneau.
This is a ski bum dream job as the season goes may to the end of sept.
This also a great job if you have aspirations to get into the heli-ski industry.
Requirements:
1. Can't be a recent felon. If you have forged aircraft documents or have distributed meth of large quantities within in the last 6 months and been convicted your most likely not gonna get a interview. If you have some minor alcohol consumption or speeding tickets, don't worry unless its excessive (more than three).
2.Need to pass a drug test. This not your regular drug test. This a FAA drug test. The last two d-test I took I was required to strip to my underwear and socks, wear a gown and then they patted down my socks. Then I took a piss in a cup. I personally don't smoke weed more than once a month, so it's not a concern for me. If you smoke more than I do I would buy a piss test to see or get really good at hiding stuff.
Bases:
Juneau: it's a much bigger base with about 6-9 helicopters. They offer glacier landings and dog mushing tours. Everyone has there own job and does it individually. Loaders load copters. Drivers drive people. Dispatchers dispatch people. Lots of people and lots of work.
No housing options and Juneau ain't super cheap. If you want get into heli busniess it's a great way to start.
Denali: Small base. 3 helis max. Ground crew does everything but fix copters and fly them. Everything. We all live on site (meaning on days off you get woken up at 8 unless your heavy sleeper.) you do get some good benefits that make it worth while. 5 on 2 off schedule. We are right across from Denali national park entrance where lots is going on.
This just a notice to get people's attention. My boss has been complaining that they don't have enough people to choose from for work. If you want more information just PM me.
If your a competent human being with a background in anything related to guest services, consider to apply. You Don't need previous aircraft experience. Just need common sense and a willing to learn new things. Here's the site to apply.
