Basement ideas

our house offer was accepted today. its crazy. im very excited.

My spouse is letting me do what I please with the basement. Its technically unfinished, meaning cement floors and foundation walls. It has a half bath. And a fridge.

I am wondering if anyone has any cool ideas for basement decorations. I will likely hang drywall and get a buddy to paint a mural. Maybe the Endless Summer movie poster. I have a deer mount from whne I was in high school thats hanging at my dads place that I might include.

So im looking for cool ideas. Offer 'em up if you have one. Appreciated. Looking forward to posting pictures at a later date!

do you have any windows in the basement? would be pretty cool if you could do some sort of green house with some moss graffiti on the walls. would probably need to do a lot of vapor barrier work but it would be pretty sweet.

Tingado you have any windows in the basement? would be pretty cool if you could do some sort of green house with some moss graffiti on the walls. would probably need to do a lot of vapor barrier work but it would be pretty sweet.


the only window is that trench window (forget the technical name) that all basements have - the ones that are small and way up toward the ceiling - i think just for like emergency exit? i dunno. That woudl be cool tho - our kitchen is eat in and it has a planter window for basil and herbs and shit, so i thought that was pretty cool.

In my basement I have this awesome TV room, there is stadium type seating and a projector, the projector was only $900 for the projector and the screen which is 110 inches. And I plan to add some old movie posters and some big die cuts of film reels or something movie theatre themed. I think thats a pretty cool idea.

I'm a guy so it might be different and depending on budget I would get ping pong table/ pool table, fouton couch(for guests), and a projector would be awesome and a speaker setup

yes, that is sweet. We had stacked couches at my place in undergrad - def a cool idea. I will likely keep it to one couch in the basement just because i dont have tons of people over anymore but that would be neat. projector would be boss too cause its in a basement so it would show up on black drywall pretty well.

Yah, i had a pool table growing up - i didnt play nearly as much as i thought i would. my dad has a ping pong table so likely I will just take that and build some saw horses so I can stack and store it in the corner - but pong is definetly a must!

haha i know it. the guy that we are buying from had a drum kit in the basement - I almost made my realitor include it in the terms haha.

Its funny you say bong because (not to sound like a fuckin degenerate) my side project is finding a water pipe where the jar/chamber is the death star - cause that would be fuckin tite.

I've bolted rings to the ceiling so I can train with them using my ice axes in the off season, I guess putting in some kind of bouldering wall would be cool too

ding ding ding. This is a bad ass idea. I didnt realize how much you could do with a space of my size until i googled some stuff. Awesome idea, really appreciate the inspiration!

I put a work bench with a ski vice in my basement. I might start up a shop doing tunes if I feel so inclined but for now I just like to do my own.

Rip out a section of the house above the basement and put an olympic tramp in your basement.

I just stained 550square feet of basement with behr semi transparent concrete stain. First we rented a diamond grinder( might not be necessary) ground ti perfect. We could put golf balls across it and they traveled in perfect paths.Then we sprayed it and rolled it with a darker stain but it didn't look very good. So i ended up hand painting the whole thing with a sponge and it came out amazing. I will link a picture somehow.Basement is now ultra pimp.

hire people to renovate it, then lock them in the basement and use them as sex slaves in the indian sex trade market, sell them and get around 28,000k (depending in people) use that money to go crazy and really make the basement you want

There was a house these people were renting. They threw keggers but you had to carry 2 buckets of dirt up from the basement. They ended up building a sick ass concrete bowl in their basement of a rented home.

If anyone can find the deetz please let me know. Was such an epic story. Pretty sure they were mostly skaters.

make a small skate park. Cement floors are perfect for that. EIther build a few ramps with wood or im pretty sure you can just buy that shit somewhere if you're too lazy.
Get a few features in there. Maybe a halfpipe, if you have room, some rails and such.
Then buy yourself some spraypaint and graffiti the walls. Smash some beer cans all over the place to give it the street vibe and smell. Then, light up those incense sticks.
