NegromancerNew brakes for FKS/Pivots are $75 on Evo so brakes are pretty expensive in comparison to other non FKS/Pivot brakes. How often they break is completely dependent on what type of riding you are doing. If you're doing a lot big switch landings and park riding then the likelihood of them braking is a lot more than if you are just skiing groomers. However most of the time the brakes 'arms' will just bend and not become unusable.
Replacing them is also quite challenging much more difficult than other bindings such as Attacks and STH2's.
For cheaper than the FKS 140's you could pick up a set of Salomon/Atomic STH2 13's which are very good bindings, just as good as FKS (IMO) and you don't have to deal with the brake problems.
