las.To all the people with newfound Stannis hate who've had their bandwagon destroyed: have you not been paying attention? He burns his brother-in-law, spawns a demon to kill Renly, has multiple anonymous people at Dragonstone who wouldn't convert burned alive, has his nephew tortured and killed, gets explicitly told he will eventually betray his family (which he accepts), and nobody blinks an eye. But as soon as he sacrifices a character viewers like, everyone loses their minds, and he's immediately the most evil person in the entire world.
It's important to remember that Melisandre, in one way or another, has consistently delivered. Every prophecy she's made has come true, thus far. Combined with his supplies etc getting destroyed by the Boltons, what choice did Stannis have? Play the Fire God card which hasn't failed him yet, or (most probably) die in the snow? Once the shock subsides, and you all realize his motivations have been pretty clear for a while now, you'll eventually support him again (assuming he remains alive) - I guarantee it

what I want to know is why they didn't just use some of her blood like they did with his nephew....obviously there are no leeches nearby, but it's not like they couldn't have cut her, drained some blood, and then bandaged her back up. why the fuck did you have to burn her at the stake?
This is so nit-picky, but i felt like the CGI effects for the dragon riding scene were pretty mediocre. For the most part, the effects for the dragons, wolves, etc have been off the charts. Like, unreal good. But i thought that scene was done pretty poorly all things considered.
That said, the fight choreography has been really good since the scene in Dorne.

I'm guessing its for something more powerful than Shadow Stannis such as warming the route to winterfell or something like that, hence burning her rather than using blood like the other times.

Actors riding CGI creatures has always been a crapshoot. For a TV show I thought it pretty acceptable. I've seen much worse.

Although I will say I wish they had Drogon circle the arena and raze the outskirts with fire. I get they placed him to be in front of Dany, but it would have made more sense if he did that first.

They're supposed to be the best fighters in the world, but they keep getting fucked up by these angry rich boys with masks (for lack of a better way to put it). For real, they should straight up fucking destroy the Harpy in an open arena like that.
This episode was pretty good overall I thought. disturbing fer sure but got me stoked for the last episode
I noticed that that harpys or whatever they are called were both peasants and the wealthy. They were especially killing the previous masters (the wealthy aristocrats) including khalessis bitch ass husband.

The unsullied were created to excel in battles on a large scale, not so much with the style of fighting the sons of the harpy possess. Granted they should have kicked more ass in last night's episode but in previous skirmishes it makes sense that they didn't perform well.

Was talking about this with my brother today and we think the unsullied have become weak due to being "free" and banging chicks in the whore houses. Though not a solid reason its the best we could think of, because we were in the same boat as you are, that they are superior to any other armies.

Agreed. The fighting in the show is pretty terrible in general. I don't watch the show for battle scenes though so it is more of a secondary complaint.
Like the scene where Dany was walking over to Drogon and they're throwing spears at him. One of them could've easily speared her real quick which I assume was their mission the entire time. For all the money they spend on the show the fighting could be a little better.

it's not even the same as the books so it's really not spoiling anything. plus it still hasn't caught up.
the only thing that maybe could have been spoiled is Stannis burning his daughter, but in the books he's already done so much more on his trek to Winterfell that that wouldn't even make sense.
All the major plot points like Danaeris leaving on a dragon and such are all the same.
Interested to see if the fate of Jon and Stannis will be the same next episode as it was at the end of the latest book.

I'm definitely more intrigued by the direction that Arya's story has taken.
In the books she appears to bury everything about her past life and begin living as a real priest for the "many faces god"(loosing her sight, muerdering for the god, etc) and not the "pretending-to-be-working" as a priest as it has been shown in the series.
The last episode with the master of the coin arriving to Braavos seemed to detour the faith of Arya as a real priest, and the returning of Arya as a main character.
What I mean is that the many faces god has taken a secondary importance in the life of Arya as the west appears again in her life, ande this could mean something for the next episode.

Yeah, same with the fight when Barristan died. I felt like the Unsullied should have been fucking the sons of the harpy up way way more. Like, what happened to the Unsullied from the little anecdote in the books about a single unit of them totally destroying an entire herd of Dothraki and then the Dothraki surrendered and all cut off their braids? Masked civilians with daggers should be no problem at all.

Well in the book she killed the black brother that showed up and definitely had a hard time ditching the Arya Stark persona, I think they are just using the pedo guy (can't think of his name) instead of the black brother.

I feel like we are stuck on a dead end road here. Sam leaving/Jon Snow dying just makes up for something new up on the Wall.
Although the situation on the wall is on the edge right now, it has to become a strong force in the end of the story because of the coming winter and the white walkers. It is the only way to protect Westeros from the army.

In all seriousness I I highly doubt jon snow is dead. I do not think its a coincidence that lady malisandre came riding back to castle black when jon snow dies. She is one of the few characters who can revive the dead (Ex. when the hound killed that guy in the cave he was resurrected by the his friend the priest who asked the lorde of light.
Also in the trailer for this season it shows jon snow in the free folks clothing fighting the nights watch. THat seen has not been shown yet so it could be left for next season.

Jon is 100% getting brought back to life my Melisandre. I thought that was gonna happen in the books, then with her riding off with Stannis I wasn't so sure about the show, but the fact that she just got back and apparently lost faith in Stannis she will definitely bring Jon back and start calling him the Lord of Light.

Well assuming R+L=J, there's a lot of kings blood in that snow right now. So not only could she bring him back, she could easily have the power for some crazy magic shit.
