I have the Kartel 106 and I'm in similar conditions as you in Vermont. The RES lets them hold an edge really well in ice and hardpack regardless of the turn size. I love mine highly reccomend the Kartels

Kartel's do not have RES. They have an elliptical sidecut.

Nevermind, ordered Steeples last week and was thinking of those. My mistake. Regardless though, they hold really well.

ON3P and KittenFactory won't disappoint. I got ON3P Jeronimos this year and my friend got the Rayzrblaydz, both skis are holding up phenomenally. Just bevel them topsheets.

dunno man... I saw dom ski one pair of liberty's all season last year an he's doing the same this year..... with all the urban he's hitting, i'm sure he puts his skis through the wringer more than you.

One a all rock strike blew a huge chunk of the base out, the same type of strike on my Dynastars didn't even leave a mark. My mate de lamed hers in three days in the park too and she's not exactly heavy, couple of stomped landings split the tails open.

I'd hope Liberty have upper their game as it put me off ever buying their stuff again.

Bitch I ski in Scotland a lot of the time, most of our slopes are rocks with some snow around them. Never had more than a minor scratch or mark on any other skis (Fischer, solly, Dynastar, Kastle etc) Liberty shits its self on the most minor rock.

Haha hearing you kids say that liberty are durable, is a joke. I had three edges cracks by the end of the day, on my let's, and then snap a second pair a week later. Now with that being said, i have 33 days on kartels, and still not one edge crack. I have skied a few of the kitten factory skis, and they are bomber as fuck, and a touch lighter than the on3p, due to their awesome, carbon fiber, that still skis well and doesn't deflect like most carbon skis (cough dps). Basically get something that will last more than a few runs, and grab something from KF and/or ON3p, and i sure you will be very happy with your purchases.

The Sequence is a pretty dope all mountain ski. Just got a pair and couldn't be happier

Also, to mention on the Liberty's, I have seen 2 pairs of LTE's last longer than the bindings that were put on them (3+ years of riding year round on east coast/backyard) So I would say they are pretty fucking durable. Hold up better than Atomic and Armada atleast. Also seen a pair of antigens on a kid who slays at my park and they lasted a full season which for that kid is pretty fucking good.
I've seen a friend of mine land straight on a rock and the bases were only a little scratched. I landed on the same rock the next day and there was a solid gash on the bases of my Head skis which I consider very durable.

around me, Liberty seems to do really well durability wise.

and im that friend who got the rayzrblaydz, and i love them. ive heard the jskis are complete noodles. so theyre fun for rails and stuff, but not the most stable. as for the on3p and kitten fact, you cant go wrong. if you keep the rayzrblaydz sharp they rip everything including ice. i hit rails so i have underfoot detuned so im kind of used to skidding a bit. the kartels have about 40cm rocker compared to the kittens 29-30cm. so the kittens would have more effective edge. so really you cant go wrong with either kitten fact or on3p. any question about the rayzrs feel free to pm me (ive ridden them most of this season). and as for liberty, i have no clue.

Go for the Rayzrblaydz.

Kartels would probably be a solid choice as well, but you'll probably enjoy the longer contact surface and greater torsional rigidity of KF in Oz kind of conditions.

Js are freaking soft.

Never skied Liberty but every pair I've ever sent through the stone grinder required extra passes to even be remotely flat.

I would recommend J whip its. The skinny waist will be better for moguls, and even though there super soft, they can still land well on jumps. Also the kitten factories and kartels would both be solid choices.

If you get j skis, immediately de tune the edges. I rode my whipits on the first day of the season and one hour in, I fell and had i pretty minor crash, but my right knee landed on my left ski's inner edge and the edge cut through my snowpants, my sweatpants underneath, and a muscle in my knee. The muscle was just barely dangling out of my leg along with some loose fat. I got surgery soon after and was unable to ski for a month.

I am still missing a big deal of muscle there and it will take a few years to grow it all back. In addition, my right leg is still swollen like hell and is a lot bigger than my left leg even though this was about 2-3 months ago. My nerves are pretty scrambled up in there somehow, so when i touch the inner side of the knee, i feel the sensation on the outside.

SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, detune your edges as soon as you get some jskis if you do.

Now lets talk performance.

Durability: to put this into perspective, i got brand new armada thalls last year and rode them almost every weekend of the season. After one year, my thalls had
1 a couple normal core shots, and a couple deep core shots
2 a completely demolished top sheet where inner fiberglass and carbon fiber could be seen in a few spots
3 a whole bunch of edge cracks throughout the ski and one big ass edge split that is deep into the wood. one of the edges right underneath the boot is about a fifth of the original width and is completely out of shape
thalls are considered pretty durable so you could say that i am prone to wrecking skis easily. please note that i did not do any sort of urban skiing with these skis at any time.

after riding my j skis most weekends of this season, i have
a few, very minor core shots
a couple cuts into the topsheet/sidewall edge due to hitting my edges together on landing. none are serious or deep
2 edge cracks, neither are of my concern right now as they are practically nothing

so i guess you could say js are really durable. I feel confident in being able to make them last for a while


Flex: they are designed to be not too flexy and not too stiff and as far as i remember, the reviews agreed with this; however, i have found them to be pretty flexy and i little bit wobbly at higher speeds. I feel that this is due to me being 190lbs, 6', and riding a 171cm. if you plan on getting all plays and you are of a similar body type, you should be fine though as all plays are more of an all mtn ski and are a bit more stable. the wobbliness isnt bad but it just threw me off the first time i was speeding down the hill as the tips of my armadas didnt jiggle about.

Im running out of time to continue but everyone who rides js say they are extraordinary and i cant argue. they hold up well, they are durable, and they are sooo damn playful and energetic. Theyve helped me progress a lot and their graphics kick-ass!!!

Now go get some J's on yo feet ho!

Anybody know anything about the ON3P filthy rich. They look pretty sick I just know nothing about ON3P's.

Nearly everyone who has a pair loves them. There's alot of info on them on here. My friend loves his, they're damn near indestructible.

I have no complaints about my J Skis. I like them soft, just like my women.

I would check out the Moment Skis in your size/ shape category, not that I want to add to your dilemma, but they make some fun stuffs

If you're asking NS for the best ski ON3P's will always be the answer. I have a pair of J's and I like them, ON3Ps will last you forever, Jskis haven't been out for that long so who knows how long they last. All I know is J's will be butteryer if your into that sort of thing

My Antigens and Morphics are on their last legs after 2 years of abuse on each. Both were used pretty heavily and slammed on countless rocky tranny finds and slammed into rails etc. Definitely would recommend if you like a stiffer, snappier, extremely durable ski.

I had a pair of on3ps that lasted about 2 years. i ended up snapping them on an old set of holes from being remounted. second best pair of skis i have ridden next to my hg stingers.
