Gus took to twitter today after the x games slope comp to dissed Nick Goepper, the result is hilarious...

I don't see the hate, sure he didn't shout ABM out until after the tweets but since ABM couldn't compete Goepper was on the bubble spot so he was first in line for alternates and he threw a ridiculous run that outweighed the other guys. Gus is just being an asshole. The kid got a second chance and used it to his phenomenal abilities

Nick DID mention ABM and wished him a speedy recovery when we interviewed him while still at the bottom of the slopestyle, minutes after his win, long before the drama. He then did it again during the press conference.

I agree. Also, even the most humble people on earth can get caught up in the moment and act a little "cocky". The media and interviewers want the skiiers to realize they did something amazing and that they should be proud.

But I'll just say this, whether ABM got hurt, geopper is a jerk, Gus is a jerk, or wallisch a jerk, Nick stomped his first run and won while Gus came in last place. Yeah technically henrik came in last but he was trying stuff none of them would, so congrats Gus. The only person you beat yesterday was someone he has a concussion and a broken collar bone. Vibes to henrik and congrats to Nick.

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but what I do know is I've personally never read anything from Nick dissing other riders on social media, whereas MANY of the pros publicly mock Nick. Nick may or may not be cocky, but these others are just bullies and probably envy Nicks success, or unworthy of it because he lacks the "style" in their eyes. Its obvious when they go congratulating everyone except Goepper. Childish.

And like others have said, Nick did acknowledge ABM. What was he suppose to say to being moved up to finals? Thanks but no thanks?

I saw relieved how Nick was to win in one of his video interviews.

VinnieC was also elated (more of a dream come true feeling) rather than the feeling of (entitlement?) to hard work paying off.

High-level competition can really eat you and your relationships up. No time or willingness for anything else.

More than anything, I am happy on behalf of anyone taking to Aspen's roads around this time that they won't have pimp Nickker G in their sights. Hoping he gets some cash and hoes from this all. (F--- the fame.)

Watched slope yesterday, pretty sad when they were mentioning Goepper in the same sentence as Tanner. I'd say the judging criteria might need to change for these comps moving forward. Its pretty obvious who is the best and most fluid on skis and it looked like bellemare and joss but the judging doesn't reward style whatsoever and creativity/progression. Guys like Gus and Goepper are just hypercompetitive pussies that take more enjoyment out of the recognition and accolades associated with their skiing than their own approach to the sport like henrik, phil, others. So anytime they talk/act like jackasses doesn't surprise me. Actions speak louder than words.

I think its awesome and hilarious that skiers are firing shots publicly. Just because youre in the same sport doesnt mean you have be best friends with everybody. This shit is awesome.

Its also funny how bent out of shape some of u guys are getting over this lololol

But I think Nick didn't deserve to proceed to final. He wasn't top 8 in qualification, therefore he shouldn't have been in the final. To be the best of all, you should need to bring two great runs down, not just one and getting lucky on other people's injuries.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have whoever ranked 9 in the pre-lims go into the empty finals spot? ( if that was Goepper than just ignore me, I didnt look into it... )

Gus is definitely better Nick. Nick might be better than Gus at slope, but overall as a skier Gus is way better. Remember Gus is doing Pipe, Big Air, AND Slope at XGames. He also has segments of him skiing outside of the park, which Nick does not.

Gus also SLAYS urban (see his see in Rage Film's "Pretty Good" from 2009). I have never seen goepper do anything outside of a park/slope course or the Indianapolis motor speedway (that was lame as fuck). Kid is so one dimensional it hurts.

NS is not capable of handling competition skiing and drama. We as a collective, enjoy our array of videos and generally respect each other on a daily basis via internet. When a big comp is tossed into the mix skiing politic extremists get all fired up and its nah chill.

It is funny though, I don't hate on Goepper or Gus but I don't know the full stories of what each of them did or why.

I do hope this flamewar between them continues however because it is great to watch pros get riled up.

I honestly can't believe people are defending Gus. That was a super childish way to conduct himself, and it reeks of jealousy. I love to watch ABM and I hope bro is back on snow as soon as possible, but I really don't think Nick owes anything to ABM.
