Meh, that's a kind of shitty way to look at it imo. Parks should be built safely first, while also meeting the demands of the people that ride them.
I'm not saying you should post signs all over that say "_____'s parks suck" etc but you should be able to post your opinion on a ski forum if you don't like something.
I mean, it's great to see almost every mountain have a park these days, great improvement in parks, but the goal should always be to put up the best park possible. Some places don't have the budget to make a perfect park(not that there is such a thing) but it should always be a goal.
Having things built correctly and fitting the target demographic will keep things fun safe and profitable.
Terrain park lawsuits are real and a scary thing. It's not even just about having great setups, but making sure things are safe. I was scared for a few years about the future of parks. Things seem to be alright but there are definitely some standards that need to be happening across the board to keep things safe and the parks still going.
One of my biggest fears is for shit to go down, and people to say enough is enough and implement mandatory standards that come from words and numbers on a page for park building. This would make it hard to stay creative, pretty much get rid of the ability to eyeball. And if you don't meet those standards your done.
Idk, I want to see good parks everywhere but I like having the ability to be creative and not feel like I have people breathing down my back. Even if they got the best engineers together it's just hard for people who don't know about riding parks to get it right. There are already meetings happening now to put standards in place. Luckily some high level builders are participating.
I feel like some people know what they're doing and shouldn't be put in a box, and I hope that doesn't happen.
