How To Hit A Pole Jam?

I've hit one a few times but I'm not really sure how I do it it just happens and I need to explain how to do it but I'm not really sure what to tell them. I personally line it up between my skis and then pop/slide my ski closest to the rail on to it but I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do it. Any tips?

Sounds right to me.

An easy way to tell if you're doing it right is to just check if you're eating shit or not. Then go from there.

Simple answer: Don't. Those are always really aggressive and built solely for snowboarders to 50-50.

If you mean that dick that snowboarders hit, I slide sideways for about 5 feet before it and just keep going off the thing.

At least for mountain creek ones that go straight up :). Usually the lip to pole jams are a little poppier than the rail (at least in my experience) so you can pop and just spin really fast to slide it.

or you just soft AF

50-50: go fast and put your skis together. If it is set up pretty steep then use your knees to absorb some of the impact as you begin to slide the rail.
reg slide: go at a decent speed and commit to pop from either side approach or center

But seriously, a pole jam in my mind is usually shorter and steeper than a cannon. A pole jam is the kind of thing you see onto boxes or small rails. Ive never been a fan but its all about the pre slide.

^Yes! I hate those complainers. Those of you calling a pole jam a "snowboard" feature make me sick.
You can get on a pole jam these ways (not limited to): regular pop on, Tokyo drift, 50-50, butter, lip on...
