Replying to Sharpening Skis

I was wondering if I take my skis to a shop if they will sharpen my skis from the toe piece of the binding to the tip and from the heel to the tail. My ski's have no grip. Most resorts I ski at have so much ice that I barley hold on with my ski's. I want to leave the middle section dull so I don't catch edges on rails. Is there any downsides to this? And has anyone done it before?? Btw its my third season on them and I never had them sharpened. Thanks
