Replying to Snowboarding Gear While Skiing?

Ok, so this will probably be the stupidest question I've asked on here, but anyway.So I recently tried on my ski jacket from last season, as I'm going skiing in February, and it's way to small on me now. I have a DC snowboard jacket, that's got a big dc logo in the middle, that was my dad's (he never wore it), and I don't really want to spend £150 ($230) on a new jacket. Would people think I look stupid or is it not that bad?
