Heli-coils drill bit?

What kind of drill bit do you use to drill if you want to put heli-coils in?

Do the plastic ones work as well as the metal ones?

any other helpful info would be appreciated

Jesus I would love to see someone try to twist a helicoil into a 3.6mm hole. Best case you would look a bit stupid, worst case you would have a big delaminated mushroom in the middle of the ski.

I just recommended that OP predrill a standard hole for mounting I haven't done a heli coil in a long time but it takes .5 seconds to predrill a bigger hole. I mean the real answer to this thread is to look at the heli coil and the hole and the screw and just use your fucking brain. I tried to help a moron and aliases are hating, fine whatever my advise giving is done.

haha I think its a pretty important question, a lot can go wrong using the wrong drill bit "looking at the coil" isn't the best advice
