So in recent news David Wise came out bashing the FIS World Championships. I myself had no clue that there was even a World Cup event. All I knew was that the X-Games is this week and it is going to be insane because of all the new up and comers competing in this season's events. Also for X-Games if I am not mistaken, isn't it an invite only event and all FIS events are like a members only club, meaning that you have to be regerstered with FIS in order to compete.
A lot of people hate on FIS because of the judging and things. But here is the main point FIS seems like a good thing to have sort of because it can help the skiers that do not have a big following in the industery to make a name for themself and sorts. But also it gives them a list of where they stand in the ranks and what they need to do to move up. I personally think that the world cup event was scheudule for this week because FIS events do not have a backing in the sport like the X-Games does, with it's deep rooted history in the ski community. I think FIS wants to be like the X-Games one day... maybe. But I don't think that will happen.
So yeah FIS is sort of, kind of a good thing I guess in a way, but fuck FIS.
Since I am on the subject of compettion skiing; what the hell is up with the FUCKING Dew Tour. Like I remeber when the Dew Tour first started, they have a shit ton of stops all of the place. and now they just have one thing and they call it the Dew Tour Mountain Championships. WHAT? How can this be a Championship event if it is the only event in the "Tour"? I think the money has gotten to someone's head. But, fuck it. Go ski.
IT'S JUST SKIING IN THE END. Right?
