My best friend that I knew since the second grade was recently involved in a serious skiing accident around noon yesterday. Skiing down a run at Breckenrdge, he was blindsided and consequently shot into trees. Thankfully, he was wearing his helmet which shattered and saved his life. He was immediately air lifted to St. Anthony's hospital in Denver. He is currently in critical condition and has multiple fractures in his spine, massive brain trauma, and his main artery to his left arm was completely ruptured. As a result, he may never regain use of his left arm and will have to undergo months of therapy. At this point we are not sure if he will ever make a full recovery. Attached to this thread are pictures of him skiing (he is the one in the black and khaki lethal decent jacket.) For those of you who have never had the chance to meet this amazing person but, to say he brightened everyones day is a complete understatement. The last picture is about half of the people that showed up to show him and his family support after this incident.
What I am asking of the Newschoolers Community
1. Send the homie and his family vibes.
2. Please Please wear a helmet
3. I would love to get Alexi Godbout's Contact info via PM(he was his coach at Evolve Chile this Summer)
4. Help get this to Lethal Decent. When he was air lifted, they had to cut all of his outerwear. He was planning on getting a brand new lethal decent suit next week and it would be awesome to get him a new one!
5. Pray. For a fast and full recovery.
Sending some positive thoughts from Conifer, CO...I don't know you but I've seen you skiing around. When you get through this shit I'd like nothing more than to shake your hand and tell you your a badass, pull through man.

AFRICAHe is currently in surgery for his artery that leads to his left arm to try to stop the bleeding. PM me if you want to send him a short video shout out. It would mean the world to him and his family to see how much support there is in the freeskiing community. I would also love to get this to Inspired Media, one of his favorite production companies.

Woah, that is gnarly hearing about something so close to home. I ski at Breck frequently and this makes me so much more cautious about dem gapes.

Way to be Inspired. This is a terrible thing and my thoughts, prayers, and vibes out to Jonny, friends, and family. At the end of the day we are all skiers part of a big ole family. Get well soon Jonny!

Trees are no joke man. A guy I work with fell doing some casual tree skiing in uniform going maybe 15mph, if that, and shattered both femurs. Imagine the damage from a car hitting a light pole at 25, then imagine a human body of flesh and bones. It happens all the time and it almost never ends well :/

This is why I fuckin love the ski community. There's so much support for Jonny right now from so many people who didn't know him before. Fuck, when it comes down to it, he's a skier and us skiers stick together and that's why we're so fucking awesome.
Prayers, vibes, whatever else is believed certainly out there. Real cool to see this community take a break from trollin' the heck out of the internet for this.
Vibes and prayers man. If LD doesn't hook it up with a new suit for Jonny it'd be tight to see NS come together a pitch for some new stuff. I definitely would.
