not a fan of his hardcore, fake, raspy-as-hell voice he puts on nowadays. Christ conscious is a tight song, but his voice kinda takes me out of it.

the amount of development he has gone through since 1999 is unbelievable. i loved that tape, and am stoked to hear the new album after class today. (on christ conscious, at least) he has reallllllly figured out how to channel the type of energy he brings

I totally get he is trying new shit with his music career, and that's totally fine, its just not for me at all. I agree with you on the 1999 comment. hard to top that mixtape, some awesome tracks on there. That Dilla beat on snakes is one of my all-time favorites.

All his songs sound the same. He's a good rapper who has clever wordplay sometimes, but his music is very forgettable. His voice is annoying too

I personally liked it a lot, though it wasn't quite as good as 1999. OCB is a great song, the production is great and he has matured a bunch since his old days.

I like some of the music, I like the beast coast movement in general, but honestly, skill aside, Joey is monotonous for me. I can't do any of his projects top to bottom because so much of it sounds a like to me.

I like Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers a lot more. Not fair to compare an individual to a group for obvious reasons, but you catch my drift.

Plus, I've been listening to the old We Got it 4 Cheap series that Clipse (Re-Up Gang) put out like a decade ago and I can't listen to anything else right now. Ab Liva and Sandman are savants.
