is purgatory any good? Is it where all the durangoans go or do they go to taos or telluride?

I fricking live here at Purgatory resort and if you ski the park theres lost of features and people to hang out with. The snow is okay right now but when it dumps its really good!! I ski park so thats all I do most of the time they have like 4 parks and a team Ill shut up now

is the drive from durango to telluride bad? Or is it worth it? (And silverton too i guess)

I'm a Purg local and it's been a great place to grow up and learn the basics of skiing. The terrain is good if you know where to go, but that's doubtful if you aren't local, or even if you are. If you're planning a ski trip to the southwest and you want bigger features and steeper terrain, I would recommend going to Telluride for sure. Purg is fun and all, but it get's old pretty fast.

DMR aka Purg is a good resort that's incredibly family friendly, easy on the pesos and focused on intermediate terrain. There is some decent backcountry, but it's not really the place for shedding big mountain runs or finding pillows.

They do have 5 terrain parks and a new groms/gapers area, which makes it a good place to learn how to navigate a park and study features.

If you're in the area and looking for big mountain skiing your best bet is heading to Silverton. Check it out in advance online and you'll be required to make a reservation. They close this place down when it hits max capacity. They also offer up guides as part of a lift ticket package. This is serious skiing and not for those with shaky knees.

Telluride has just opened up a Superpipe accessible for night riding. They also have a legit park, but Tells downfall is the remote location and high costs.
