DorianFThis edit was really well done. there isnt really a problem with it at all. there are a few nitpicky things that could be polished, but overall this was great!
some of the nitpicky things:
- some of the shots were shaky (the intro scene and the train was especially bad, b roll shot at 1:30, some of the pans following skiers could have been smoother as well)
do you bring some form of rig with you (tripod etc) or is it all free holding of the camera? if you dont maybe consider a hi hat (mini tripod) they are pretty small and can support a decent head as well as the weight of a good camera.
- i wasnt really feeling the second set of time lapses at 1:13 - not because they were bad, they were actually really good! just because the first set of timelapses that you included were soo good that the second set seemed kind of lack luster in comparison, and it seemed like you were overusing them. perhaps replace them with some other forms of b roll (shot of snow falling, slide past snowy branch, etc)
now on to some of the things that i really liked:
- color grading was awesome! really fit the edit!
- i liked the zoomming out while the skier was skiing towards the camera in some shots - nice and smooth. what camera do you film with? that looked abnormally smooth for a dslr (although i could be wrong, and if i am wrong great job!)
hopefully this helps, great edit keep it up!
Thanks this is all really good! I didn't use a tripod for most of the shots and I agree that it would have helped a lot to have one with me. You were right about the zoom shots. All of them were shot on a TM700 (camcorder) which allowed a much smoother zoom. The rest was shot on a t3i.
Thanks again!
