Candide Thorvex popularity

In MN There has been a lot of people who have never put on ski boots and have explained to me that skiing isn't a real sport. Recently these people have been reposting/sharing/sending the "one of those days 2". A couple days ago the video was even trending on twitter and several people have come up and asked me if i've seen,"that skiing video were the guy goes in the cave, its so dope". Anyway how do you feel about Candide Thovex rising above the small inner circle of frees king and becoming a small pop-culture icon.

First of all, learn to type.

Second of all, any large scale attention freeskiing gets is awesome. Hopefully videos like Candide's will increase the popularity of our sport. Anyone who is sour that new people are getting interested in skiing or just appreciating the video, fuck you.

Third, ski-gabber you fuckin knob.

To OP's subject: I, too, have been amazed by the number of non-skiers / non-parky, non-freeridey types who have "discovered" Candide and been amazed by that edit.

When the average Public thinks about skiing they think about tight spandex suits and doing pizzas all over the mountain. Maybe if they see this, it'll open up their eyes a little so they can really see how diverse and how gnarly skiing is.

Over 7.1 million views at this point. Not bad.

The original OOTD was only like 1.4 million views when OOTD2 dropped last week.

Guys, would just like to point out that i ski that area regularly, and that the "cave" is straight up stages. 3 on to the terrasse isn't, and that think is high up to, crazy

It's been great that video has been getting all the attention, I've see loads of non skier friends re posting it.

Thovex has been awesome to watch since he was a young pup in "Propaganda" (if any of you have seen that Poor Boys video)

Candide is boss, a silent killer

He dominated park early in his career, came back from a terrible injury and then dominated the big mountain free skiing circuit, placing 1st his comeback year. Now he is dominating the media scene and deserves every bit of it. Staying relevant through the years.

i still feel like outsiders watch candide's videos and still think that freeskiers are fucking nutjobs. i don't think they see the video as crazy the way that we might. though, it is fucking nuts whether you ski or not.

while a lot of people are putting out videos showing what people can do on skis, I think candides "one of those days" videos both really capture the fun in it. even people who dont ski can watch it and think, damn, that looks like a fucking blast. and thats what skiing is to people who ski already. so i think that candide is doing a great job of sharing that sense of fun with non-skiers.

Stokes me that Candide was a name when I was getting started park skiing almost 10 years ago. While a lot of pros just go to skiing big mountain powder lines when they get older, he is staying fully relevant even long after his last comp (that I know of). He's still absolutely killing it, IMO these edits make him way more legit than winning any competition ever could.

Dude rats are fucking awesome. Had one and it was the smartest pet I have ever seen, plus they are super chill and fun to play with. It was potty trained and would wander around my room all the time. Thing was sick
