it's really just personal preference and mood, sometimes I use poles, sometimes I don't

I don't use poles anymore. I broke my wrist earlier in the season so poles really weren't an option so this year is my first time not using them.
Riding park without them is a good idea in my opinion. I hit myself with my poles falling in park a few times and it's not fun. Most people are more coordinated than me though, so for others it's not much of a problem. It's a bit annoying in lift lines and on flats, but it isn't too bad. It's all personal preference though to be honest.

He's cool
I tend to land on my wrists a lot without poles. So in the name of no broken bones I vote for poles.

For a while I didn't use poles on jibs... I was hitting a corrugated pipe feature, and when I came off, my pole stuck in the ground and the grip firmly established its presence in my croch, pole-vaulting me over onto my face... maximum steeze! I use them now and I like having them.

I prefer poles since I've always skied with poles, and I think I'd look pretty dumb without them, since I have more of a "classic" bag of tricks with switch ups and so on on rails.
