Different camera angles in OOTD

am I the only person who wants to see Candide from different camera angles? I think it would be so cool to see him from a follow cam to see actually how big he goes. granted, I do love the POV cam but a follow cam would be sick.

That would be rad, we all know damn well that pov cams make everything look bigger no matter how big the jump actually was. A 10' cliff is instantly turned into a 20 fter but on the real, a tripod or a follow cam would be rad.

I would argue they generally make everything look smaller... You're saying all of those hits in person would be smaller than they look in the video? You're wrong.

Forget balls, you'd need the raw talent to even be able to hold your shit together skiing in between the jumps.

I don't know if there would actually be anyone out there that could follow him on this. Many of the hits don't even have a ski-around.... so you'd have to be right on Candide's tails.

I love the POV part of it. I find it makes it feel so much more gnarly.

it's hard enough to follow friends through the park and keep them in frame all time. i can't even imagine how much both ski and film talent follow-cam for candide would need. for example the mogul field in ootd2 would kill most, cause you have to concentrate on staying on your feet and keeping the skier in frame.

this. As far as I can tell they both ski together and Aziz also followed Candid on that frontflip shot in the last OOTD.
But imagine a single continuous aerial shot that follows him from top to the bottom of the mountain. Now THAT would be jizz-worthy!

This. The speed he's carrying between hits is just ridiculous. I don't think many people can wrap their heads around this. In a GS course, you are probably going plus 50 MPH. He hangs on that guy's hip and carves straight into that 3. The tree sequence right before the Eagle near miss, I am guessing he was going about 65 MPH. He's basically hitting this shit at Super G to Downhill Speeds, and throwing a flat 3 BTW. Who the hell can hang with that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?

I'd be stoked if we could just get some out takes clips of stuff people shot while he was blowing by. You know a lot of those people that were parked near his line were videoing. Hope some of that footy leaks out.

POV is the absolute best way to film these edits.

Gives the illusion that he is out there shredding solo everyday

I think guys like him could be a nightmare to film, just charging so hard. I feel like I've heard Delorme is the same way, no one can keep up. I absolutely love this POV style though. Maybe you could get Sander to follow him with a MOVI and a heavily insured camera and get a second angle but the whole raw charging vibe of the edit would be different.

There are very few people who can make POV look good. Candide, Sander, a few others, for everyone else it just looks smaller and slower. It really gets rid of all the tricks videographers have to make everything look huge and pretty.

Yeah I mean I'd love to see the attempt.... but dude he was on blast in this one. I felt like the skiing in #2 was way gnarlier than #1.

Yeah. Speaking from experience (yeh bruh, sux, my 5footer looked like a rail lip on go pro) it makes it look muuch smaller. And speed too. Might be counterintuitive but when you think someone's going FAST on go pro footage, that means they're bombing the fuck out.

I'm just gonna go watch it again.

A drone would work. Maybe not the cave shot, but for just about anything else, if you had a nice ass drone you could get it to follow him pretty well.

I have a feeling he speeds up the footage to get the real speed again, since gopro slows way down. If he didn't speed up the footage..well my mind can't think like that without buzzing out.

I've seen some pretty crazy shots on one of the nicer drones outside of skiing. I'm sure there's a pilot out there that could pull it off. I honestly think that is the only way you could hope to film guys like Candide.

That's what stood out to me. Just charging crud; super impressive. And dins must be at 20. His home resort makes Wildcat at Alta look like a green circle.
