Do you believe there is a God?

Do you believe in God? Do you believe there is one God, or many gods? Or no God at all.. Are we alone on earth?


If there is no God then everything is relative, which means morality is relative. If you don't believe in God then where do you gain your sense of right and wrong? From laws and rules created by the GOVERNMENT?


I want interesting discussion, but preferably no one getting mad and offended. I won't get offended if you won't.

I find alot of people take religion and the bible way too literally. I think modern science has quite clearly proven that earth is way older than 12k yrs but you can still be religious knowing that. They are called bible "Stories" afterall. Im definitley not the most religious guy out there but i was raised in a mostly christian community/ very christian family and for me its mostly about the messages that the stories have and just trying to be a good person to other people. Who really cares how old the earth is thats just not the point at all. You have to remember that the bible is old as fuck and you cant take it literally because society has completely changed.

You actually did think Hitler was an atheist, don't even try to play that off thinking it was Stalin. First of all if somebody told you the flaws of carbon dating. Then they don't know what carbon dating is, or have an extremely biased view and they're from your church. second of all there are multiple ways to date the earth not just carbon dating if you actually bothered to learn it you would know that.

Carbon dating can't date the age of the earth. That's basic science you might have learned in grade 8. It has a half life of about 5700 years. There are many other radioactive isotopes that work far better, and many other methods of dating the earth. There are no other explanations for sedimentary rock and the grand canyon, it's simple sedimentology. You are obviously trolling or literally a stupid fuck.

It seems unlikely that both the rate of formation and rate of decay wouldn't always be there same because of changes (extreme changes) in climate (ice ages etc). Or just time itself. When you guys start talking about millions of years like its nothing.. That's when I start to wonder if anyone can actually wrap their mind around how long even just one million years is and the amount of change that would take place on earth in that time

To me the definition of God is what is vital. God is no human, human beings are fucked up creatures, why would a higher being reflect us. But to me God is energy and since energy can't be destroyed or created God was always there he created this Universe through laws and codes. And since we are energy we are God but God is not us. Just my two cents..but religion is fucked and good things can be taken from all religions but should not be followed because they are second hand experiences not science.

Carbon dating only works till about twenty thousand years. Anything over that, and it becomes unreliable. There are other methods we use to date when the earth first formed, and we don't use carbon 14 or the Grand Canyon. When the earth first formed, it was actually molten lava there were no rocks.

thats why we don't use carbon dating. Lead isotopes have much longer half lives and are more accurate over long periods of time than carbon.

Which was used to estimate earth's age from rocks, namely rocks in outer space, and craters on earth. Its complex, but there's no leap of faith, just science.

You can believe in evolution while being a creationist. If you don't believe that organisms change to adapt to environments, I don't know what to tell you. I've met plenty of intelligent people who believe in creation, but they usually involve science in their theories rather than just completely ignoring it.

Question, what do you make of ancient human-like primate remains that have been found and are clearly different from the humans we see today?
