milk_manHumans justify all sorts of cruel and stupid things. That's why we need a law set in place that even the government can't dismantle. And that is the basic law that Christians go by
The basic law 'good Christians' live by completely disregards the massive swathes of the bible which condone actions which any decent person would consider immoral by modern standards.
Slavery, genocide, rape, infanticide, extreme violence are all enacted, encouraged or condoned by the god of the bible, but the vast majority of people reject or ignore those aspects because they are in contravention of people's own innate morality.
Therefore to claim that the bible is a prerequisite for good behaviour is asinine and ignores the fact that humans decide for themselves what is moral rather than taking instruction from a book.
To prove my assertions wrong simply give one example of a moral behaviour that Christians are capable of that atheists aren't?
Furthermore your point about a religious law needing to be above the government is in direct contravention to the American Constitutions which establishes a separation of church and state by asserting that no religion should ever take precedence in government.
