First off, avalanches are no joke and I think all of us here know that. You can't make the mountain safe, only safer. When you head out into the back-country, even the side country BE PREPARED ALWAYS.

That being said avalanches are pretty fascinating considering the speed they can travel, the force they build, and what they can take out.
