got a new pair of full tilt b&es and they are killing my ankles. my buddy said he knows a lot of people who file theirs down on the plastic part of the boot in that areas due to the same problems. any tips on this that could help me out?

One tip that will help would be to go to a boot fitter

without seeing your foot and ankle and doing a proper assessment none of us can give a proper response. So to be blunt, go to a bootfitter.

Like the other two people said, we cant really help you through the internet. What you are describing is the job of a boot fitter
