shin-bangBut seriously tho, which booster do I need? Expert?
WattsNo offense, but if you're in the backseat all the time, I doubt you're that aggressive of a skier. The 80 flex boots also don't indicate someone who skis particularly aggressively, but obviously boots are just boots and don't always paint an accurate picture of the skier wearing them. Get the experts, not the World Cups.
CyanicenineI weight 130lbs and I use the expert booster straps.
I don't really feel like the booster straps "stiffen" your boots like people claim. Mostly what they do is eliminate that dead spot in your boots from when you unweight then begin to re-engage the flex, there is a gap with a normal strap where you don't feel any engagement in the flex. The elastic in the booster makes the strap hug your shins more uniformly so you don't get that dead zone where there is no flex engagement. Which depending on how much you were reaming on your old strap may make your boot feel stiffer, simply because it's engaging the actual flex of the boot sooner.
cydwhitYeah, expert at a minimum, 6'0, 175lbs, full tilt 8 flex and expert is a little soft
