Hey - Anyone in North Jersey looking for a few PVC rails to slide in their own backyard plus a few skateboard/bike/skate ramps? Made the rails with my son several years ago and he used them in our backyard. If you have a slope I'm sure that would help but he just built a snow ramp off our (relatively low) deck, slid down that, and hopped up onto the rails. He's older now and in the city so they're up for grabs - FREE.
Note that you'll likely need an SUV or pickup to transport them as the rails are each 10 feet long (and you will need to pick them up - I don't have a vehicle that can carry them). Also have three plastic ramps as shown below. Prefer a one shot package deal - take it all off my hands at once. Respond here if you're interested with an email address and I'll get in touch - first come, first served.
Obviously, I do have to state that anyone who takes them and uses them is using them at their own risk - no, I'm not a lawyer :-)
Here are a bunch of photos and descriptions:
This is the biggest and heaviest - one person can carry it but it's awkward. It's 10 feet long and about 13 inches high. There is a crack in one of the PVC pipes (one of the photos shows it) but you can still slide it and in any case, the whole thing is bolted together so with a little work, you can replace it. Two of the wooden feet are also cracked but again, it's still pretty solid as is and can be used. You can also easily unbolt the feet and put on replacements. Note that the cracked feet were not caused by using or handling the rail - a car rolled over the ends of the feet in the garage.
Here are two general views:
Here's a close-up of the crack in the rail which also shows one of the bolts holding it together:
One of the rails is also cracked a bit at the end:
This is what one of the intact feet looks like and how it's bolted on. Simple piece of a 2x4 with four countersunk holes for the bolts:
And here are the two cracked ones. You can probably make a replacement in 5-10 minutes but as I said, still usable as is:
Next rail is also 10 feet long but is of much simpler and lighter construction. It's simply a 2x4 with pvc pipe bolted on:
You can see here how it's bolted on:
The last one is also just a 2x4 with pipe but it's bolted to three Home Depot buckets which puts it about 17 inches up in the air:
Here's how it's bolted on:
And lastly we have the three ramps. They're about three feet long, two feet wide, and a foot high. Yes, one has a hole in it:
Here's a better view of the one with the hole:
Well that's the lot. Happy to answer any questions and please provide contact info if you're interested.
Thanks.
