If you have long hair wear it long. You don't look hip or independent with a man bun, it isn't 2012. Either cut your fukin hair or take care of it and brush it. Don't just through it up into a rats nest on your head. Man buns are not cool and any one who is growing long hair to have one is a fuccboi.

I wear my hair in a man bun when it's not in a hat. Screw everyone who hates on man buns. Curly hair man buns look neat. Sure as hell beats having my hair look like pubes on my head.
I've had a mullet, braids, normal long, straightened, and a million other things but never rocked a man bun. Not my thing. It's the cool thing to do now but I'm good on that.
I have thought about it for road trips though. Long hair is your enemy if you're a dude on a road trip.
I've been rocking the bun since 2011 /claim. It just isn't practical to have it flying all over your face sometimes, which is where a hat comes in handy but sometimes you can't do that either.
However if you do that shaved sides thing with the little topknot you are a confirmed douche fuck and a massive sheep. Kill yourself

I agree that if you grow your hair out just to have one you are a poser. Calling it a man bun also is idiotic because it's a fucking bun and my hair doesn't have a gender haha. My hair is long and gets put in a bun when I'm getting down to bizniz and need a tight center of gravity for my head. I'm also Asian so I get samurai compliments most of the time instead of wannabe lumberjack

It's especially difficult as an Asian with long hair since the only alternative is to look like a scene kid or an anime character. And if you cut your hair you look like some kind of pencil-pushing FOB.
