me and my roomate were stoned and decided we wanted a cat. Went to the shelter and got one while stoned. It shit on our floor for 2 days cause we forgot to buy a litter box. Or food. It are ours.
My little brother had a weird phase with ice cream trucks when he was young. If he heard or saw one, he had to go buy some ice cream. He ended up spending around 50$ in a week and a half.

I got super stoked about flyfishing after I got a flyfishing rod from my stepdad, and decided to start tying my own flys. Bought a fly tying vise for like 50€. Then something happens and the vise and rod are still just laying around, with no use. Maybe next summer I'll get into it.
bought a keyboard and stand so i could start learning to play piano. i was starting to learn for a couple months but then busy season at work kicked in and now i have trouble making time for it (read: i don't make time for it).
i still want to learn, but it won't get picked back up until the spring at which point i hope i don't just say fuck it

Much like park skiing, the learning curve is slow as hell. Just try to make 15 minutes a day to practice and things will eventually come. Just don't expect to be a Beethoven or Liszt to quickly. Piano takes a lot of repetitive practice.
I never make an impulse purchase. I evaluate my financial status. Go home, check the fridge or closet or general living area to decide whether or not I will really benefit from said purchase. I then live my life as if I owned the item and see how different I feel for about a week. If I realize the longevity of my happiness is being threatened without it, then I go back to make that purchase. But that usually never happens because everything is given to me.

Not me but one of my buddies. He got really drunk one night and decided that he needed a popcorn maker. He bought a really nice popcorn maker cart on amazon. Wasn't the worst decision ever though because now when we're really stoned he makes movie theater quality popcorn that tastes delicious. A week later though another cart somehow got sent to him of the same model. He's not sure if he bought a second or they screwed up.
I had saved money since the age of about 11 to buy a car when I was 16/17. I ended up buying my 2012 wrangler for 19,000 in full. I found it at a dealer and bought it on the spot. It doesn't seem so bad, but a few months later I realized I should have bought an older jeep and spent about 5-6k less and saved that for college, an apartment, or for some mods on my jeep. I definitely wish I would have put more thought into that, but you life and learn.
120$ (originally $300) Columbia Tech shell. "waterproof" and "breathable" yet absorbs water like cotton and traps it inside worse then a plastic poncho. Shit screwed me over in a storm is the Adirondacks... Never EVER buy a jacket from a clearance sale that doesn't have *k/*k ratings and claims "waterproof and breathable" and plan to use it outside.
I work at a pet store and recently just brought home two infantile kittens and had to buy so much stuff for them. I had to let them go to another family for free and lost so much freaking money on that. Kinda worth it though. Kittens are amazing.
