Good Small Western US Mountains

Hi everyone.

I know of all the little places in New England but only of some out West.


Looking for any decent little places like Powderhorn in Mesa/Grand Junction CO or Willamette Pass outside Eugene OR.


Something that might not be worth driving 10 hours out of the way to ski but its worth a couple and contains expert terrain even if it might not be super gnarly.

So yeah feel free to bring on anything like this in CO, NM, CA, ID, MT, WY, UT, WA, OR!

Bogus Basin here in Boise. Sometimes we get a nice storm and its great, other times not so much. For what it is, it isn't bad, there are 7 lifts and day tickets are only $50

Other Idaho places to check out (that ive ridden) are of course: Sun Vallley, Grand Targhee, Pebble Creek, Pomerelle, Tamarack, and Brundage

Homewood, CA has great tree skiing and you can usually get fresh tracks for a few days after a storm

Purgatory in Durango, Colorado is pretty mellow and fun. Silverton, Wolf Creek, and Telluride are also rad and close

Montana has a few good small hills. Was just at red lodge and payed 37$ a ticket with my college ID. Can't best that.

Grand Targhee is the bomb. So much snow and good terrain with no one skiing. I also like Brighton in Utah. See above.

Loveland, Ski Cooper both in CO and relatively close. Also close to some bigger mountains like Breck, Keystone and Copper

no its really crowded in montana and really fucking cold. Head to idaho instead.

and don't forget they have one of the best terrains with good lift lines.

I prefer Hoodoo to Willamette Pass. My friends in Eugene might disagree though and I've never been to WP when you could see the view that they all rave about. Hoodoo is tits on a good day and you can make your runs as challenging as you want to.
