Breck/key/copper/abay

I'm heading out to colorado with my family in mid march, trying to decide what mountains to hit. spending sunday and monday in the breck/key area, then the rest of the week out by aspen. i'll be looking for steeps and good sidecountry, while my brother is more into long groomers and stuff. snowmass seems to be the right choice while we're in aspen, but i'm unsure where to go while we're near breck/key/copper/abay, especially considering sunday crowds
any suggestions for good snow conditions and good terrain? i'm not that worried about park conditions

If your looking for steeps and stuff abay is normally pretty primo come mid march.

Stay away from keystone. People think its alright but I cant stand it. Breck is a good family resort and has a little bit of everything. A-bay can be awesome. Probably some of the best skiing in the area. Not really a family place though.

Im at copper now and I actually love it. There is literally everything. Moguls, steeps, bowls, groomers. You arent gonna find as many chutes or super steep mogul runs, but the bowls are some of the best in my opinion. And no lift lines.

Id probably go copper or breck. If you like steeps, the e-chair at breck will be right up your alley.

I agree, Keystone is pretty pointless besides A-51 and night skiing.

seems like copper and abay are the ways to go. both look awesome but i'm probably leaning more towards copper because of the faster lifts. usually i'd take that as a reason to go to abay, but my family would probably appreciate being able to take more runs more than they'd enjoy the terrain.
i've always wanted to ride A51, but years of slams have kinda turned me off park skiing

also, is snowmass the best idea for the aspen area?

yeah if you're with your family definitely go to copper if you are trying to decide between that and a-bay. I was at the basin today and its still pretty bare. not really family friendly terrain either.

I was just at copper for a couple days earlier this week. never waited in one lift line. They have a ton of mellow groomers that are miles long, then you can take the storm king lift and the whole mountain opens up. I dont think it deserves enough recognition in general to be honest.

Head to copper- that's my favorite spot in that area. The back bowl/ tucker mtn can be a ton of fun and they have plenty of cruisers for your bro. Typically a lot shorter lift lines than breck too! That's where I'd go. Nothing crazy steep but plenty to keep a person busy. Vail is a little bit of a drive but that would be my second choice.
