You could just get a job at timberline so you get a discounted summer pass or just use the work a day ride a day system. Most of the summer employees stay at the airstrip which is the cheapest and your best bet if your trying to save any money. If you really want an apartment in Govy then you really need to try start applying for them just because they get filled really quick. And for transportation up and down the hill if you don't have a car/bike then you can easily take the mountain express which takes you all the way up to timberline and down to Sandy. Hitch hiking is always pretty easy in the summer as well. Get a job at Timberline work a couple days a week and ski the whole summer!

It all depends on the level of bumming you're going for.
If you're shooting for some hard core bum living heres what you gotta do. Find a semi-secluded spot on Hood it's self off the access road and camp there for the summer. Hitch hike to the top daily and hike to the park. 15-25 minute hike from the parking lot while the public park is Mile Cayon. It will suck hiking up to the park every day dodging employees and not being able to use the lift but it's free and you'll get fucked up good.
You're next option is to get a job at Timberline and they will compensate you with either life tickets or a pass like stated above. If you work on Lifts they will give you a free pass and you can shred 3 days a week. If you work in the hotel you'll probably be working 3-4 days week and they will give you work a day ride a day tickets. Working lifts is one of the easiest jobs you will ever have (almost too easy) but the two mangers and crew are kick ass. Major down fall of lifts is that you gotta be there at 5:20 in the AM. T line does supply transportation for their employees.
Summit Apartments is pretty reasonable and pretty gnarly living. you gotta get on that shit ASAP rocky though because it fills up quick.
a summer pass is 1000 clams. So if you're not trying to work at T line you're looking at dropping a g on dat ass to ski everyday.
The skiing is going to be tittle city all through June, but the weather is pretty unpredictable. Come july 4th you're gonna have 50-90 degrees on hill and nada but SUN SHINE everyday( basically). As july progress so does the melt. It will get to the point where the lift isn't ride on and you're gonna be getting off your skis and walking 8-15 minutes to the lift everyone. The park will start decreasing in size at this point as well.
Come August they will move the park up top to Palmer and you're looking at a pretty small sized park but basically unlimited laps all day long with no one on hill.
Hood is a nutty place. Get ready!
