Steezy_McbreezyYou are doing good, thats about where i was at except the biindsoul. its my second year and im just learning them
PKchuWhat the hell is a "bind soul?" And for the urban on just act like you're stepping on to a staircase sideways. If it's a handrail (down) then be sure to keep your weight forward, have a wide stance too
Adolf.HitlerIt's my first year of park (second year skiing) and I think I've picked up pretty quick, which I'm super stoked about. I've gotten most of these tricks on my first try (except 540s which I got on my second try) . So far I have switch 180s and 180s both ways, 360s, 540s, 720s, backflips, cork 360s, front 270 offs, surface swaps, front swaps and 270 ons. Most tricks I can do with grabs and I'm just working on getting 7s and cork 3s and all my rail stuff cleaner. Also, /claim.

Swandog7Also, any tips on urban on, I am on,y able to "straddle" rails which is a big barrier for me.
MinggMr.Bishop helped me with this, this season actually and it helped me a ton. I learned on a flat tube with about a foot gap and the lip was about a foot lower than the tube. Find something small like that and then go from there.
If you ride right foot forward come from the right side(left foot forward - left side). What bishop told me to do was to practice just getting on by almost trying to jump over the rail. Like you jump on, grind it a bit but then come off the other side. I did this a few times to get the feeling of coming over from the side. I found with more speed is a lot easier. You shouldn't carve into it too much(or you're just gonna jump over), but i do a little bit. It's easier than it seems.
So basically approach the tube/rail/box from the correct side.
Carve a little bit, just enough to get over top of the feature

Grind it like you would coming on straight
Afterbang.
It took me about 5ish hits to get comfortable with it. It's really not too different at all from coming in straight. Good luck dude!
Mr.BishopI'm so happy you just wrote this!
Nothing wrong with a little confidence builder to get it started. You been trying it on anything bigger after getting the feeling dialed?
KazabazuaSpend less time comparing yourself to others - this will allow you to have more time to improve your skills.
Mingg(: thanks for the tips! There really isn't too much set up at the parks around me/: but I'm gonna hit up a different hill later in the week and I'm gonna see what they have set up... hopefully I'll try some harder stuff there!
ski-for-lifeHoliday Valley has a decent down rail on Fiddlers elbow!
PVM*You are doing great for your first year, don't worry about what anyone thinks.
Tips to improve even faster that work for me. Visualize yourself doing the trick before dropping in, and have the get shit done mentality.
Swandog7Exactly what I do, learning some urban on and I'm not doing to bad, I'm getting on the rail very well, I just have some issues staying balanced after it, +K for those who helped
gnarballsianmwait... so bindsoul is hippie killer or are those two totally different tricks?
Swandog7Searched on the search bar and couldn't find it, also wanted some tips
