looking to upgrade my camera...
What has better features and what would you consider the overall better camera for filming?

WPochwhat camera or camera lenses did you have before?
liamrashotteI had a t3i and a canon ef s 55-250mm lens (and the stock lenses that came with the camera)
Also would the layout and everything be hard to get used too? If so would this be worth getting?

-AM-I would steer clear of the packages on ebay like that. Chances are most of the stuff is cheap, and you'll be unhappy with what you get.
On another note, the T5i is a great camera just in terms of how easy it is to use (its also less than 500 right now on ebay). I just picked one up and couldn't be happier. The gh3 is a little more expensive (most people buy a speedbooster as well, which can add $100-$300 depending on what you get), but I've seen some amazing footage come out of it.
plorrCanon DSLRs are soo far behind when it comes to video. Even a GH2 would be a big upgrade from a t3i.
The t5i is a sham. literally identical to the t4i, and only an extremely marginal improvement over the t3i.
SKI.INGYou say they're behind but then only use the T series as an example of their product...

plorrBecause the OP is discussing upgrading from a "T series" camera to another "T series" camera.
Do a little research. For every Canon DSLR, there are equivalently priced (or cheaper) cameras from Panasonic, Sony, or Blackmagic that will blow it out of the water in terms of video IQ and features. The 5Diii actually sucks for video considering how expensive it is. IMO even the C100/C300/C500 aren't really impressive at all. Buying a Canon DSLR for video isn't the best move unless you happen to be heavily invested in their glass, in which case you're still probably better off just adapting it to another system.
Who cares though. They are obviously still capable of producing good footage. Theres just a lot of other cameras out there that can produce better footage for the same/lower price.
SKI.INGOk I understand that. I just don't think it's fair when people trash Canon over the T series. You're comparisons are valid though. I've just never had trouble with mine, but then again I haven't looked to upgrade my body in quite some time. I stand corrected. Took a look at the panasonic range.

gavinrudyAdapting the glass is a sketchy choice because it'll likely soften your image and you won't get any AF if you shoot photos, which is a ridiculous drawback.
