Rail landings

how do u come off a rail properly...like i see people grind down a rail and come off swithc like no problem...and when i come off a rail sometimes i have trouble turning that direction...any tips??

start thinking about it and getting ready while your still sliding. i used to have a problem where i would spazz wondering wether to come off regular or switch and end up doing neither. just practice it a bunch, nothings a better motivator than not wanting to land on a sore hip again.

Usually coming off switch feels more natural because you spin off the same way you spun on so you can flow through it.

I have trouble coming off regular, it feels better for me to just flow off switch. But you gotta just think about and give a little pop at the end of the rail.

switch is def easier man its more natural if you spin onto rails natural

Its so much cooler if you come off the rail forward then backward, because backward off rails is so easy. Besides you can make it look like you dont even move, and then be like Niggah Please.

It really depends on how you get onto the rail.
Some people slide rails with their skis perpendicular to the rail, with their shoulders facing somewhat forward still, this would make it easier to come off regular.
Some people slide facing fully sideways, or even backwards, and would have more momentum backwards to come off switch.

At least that's how I set myself up on a rail to come off the way I want.

Same with 270s off, if you turn your shoulders slightly in the direction you are going to spin, it makes it easier to spin off.

^^^^^yeah, if you want to land backwards, get on the rail and let your whole body get perpendicular to the rail. if you want to land forwards, keep your head and shoulders facing more forward.

if this makes any sense, make sure you perpendicular to the rail while sliding and and before you come to the end start turning to get off

i used to fruit boot back in the day like 10 years ago, and coming off a rail switch just seems more natural. plus i think you have less of a chance of nutting yourself if you do.

Hike a rail and practice for a day. For me personally it is easier to land switch, cause I already started that rotation getting on the rail, its natural.

its easier to go off switch but only marginally. natural is easy too. However, it is more comfortable to come off switch for most learners.

yeah^. shoulders adn your head are key. go into the rail with what you are gonna do in your head, cause if your unsure it can hurt
