I recently screwed my skis over really bad, to the point that my local ski shop doesnt know what to do with them. Stuck in this position with a solid few days of skiing coming up I bought a new pair. I was thinking about exactly how many times I actually skied on my old ones, and I came up with just about a season. Which, for me, is just about 40 days. Thats when I started to think about how much per day I spent on them. And before you know it I had this list.
The average price of skiing based on a 40 day season (at least for me as different people spend different amounts). It was quite surprising to me how much you REALLY spend, and I thought I would share it, though doesnt really set me back at all.

One bad fall and a few days in the hospital could fuckin kill your bank account if you don't have insurance. Skiing without insurance is definitely not the smartest thing to do, but whatever.

what if he just makes enough money to be able to buy the newest gear... it's also helping support the brands he likes. if they don't sell out of their newer gear at retail prices, how will they earn enough profit to keep producing new products? someone has to buy the new gear, why is he a moron for doing so?
Holy shit I just did the math for my skiing, and I thought I really did a good job keeping the costs low, prior to adding gas costs for me it's only $19.14/day. Thats gear and a pass and everything...
But then I added gas costs:
1 Day at Summit at Snoqualmie (where I hold a pass): $95.68
1 Day at Crystal Mountain (incl. $43 lift ticket): $179.12
This is based off of the above link and although I'm skeptical it is a pretty reliable source so there we are.

I think everyone agreed with you other than me. Which is terrifying. People are sheep. They have been taught to blindly support the military and never question it or most of their taxes paying to protect us from impending invasion from Canada and to expect and are happy to work full time 40 hours a week for the privilege of visiting the doctor or hospital. (Don't worry if you get laid off or something that can never happen to you fuck obamacare and all.)
