How much do Ski boots change from year to year? Krypton Cross 2010 vs 2012

I just accidentally bought two of the same boot on eBay. I won bids on both brand new in box 2010 Dalbello Krypton cross boots, and slightly used 2012 Krypton Crosses. The used pair looks almost brand new, They couldn't have been used more than 3-4 days.
Which pair should I keep? the brand new older model, or the newer slightly used model? would the newer one be lighter, have new technology in the liner, or have any advantages at all?
Both boots cost me the same, and both sellers accept returns for any reason.

Old boot is fine, minimal changes in the krypton line over the years, keep whatever one is cheaper/ you like more

I'm just curious, did you get fitted at a shop before buying them?

I demoed them a few years ago and loved them, but with no snow in sight ended up not buying them. My current boots are completely shot so I need new boots if I want to get any days in this season. Last season I got 3 days and each of those days my feet were in the most pain they have ever felt.
I figure The fit of the Kryptons must be similar, year after year, I was just wondering if a newer model might have a warmer, or longer lasting liner, or a lighter shell. I ride my boots until they die. My current current boot is a Salomon Pro Model from 2002-2003
