Totaled skis?

Hey Newschoolers, today while I was shredding I had a huge blowout of the edge on the tip of my ski. It was originally just a tip impact from a rail. My question is, is it fixable or are my skis totaled?

I have a couple ideas, thinking about, because it is so high in the tip, to put a few screws with washers through the edge and put nuts on the top of the ski, to try to keep the base connected to the top sheet. but im not sure it would truly hold and if it did there would be the top of a screw sticking out the bottom of my ski.

Or maybe trying to cut the whole edge off the top of the ski and p-tex the place where the edge got ripped out. This wold be really hard because you would have to make a frame to keep the p-tex there. It also may just fall right out again. So im back to square 1...

If anyone can think of a different way to put it back together, please post it. Any help would be great.

definitely not totaled. I would try the washer thing using something like these



with ptex/epoxy you risk the layers just coming apart again.

theyre still rideable if you do this. but as he said use epoxy too

This happened to one of my buddies. He used epoxy and rivets to fix it.

I really like this idea, but I think I could only use them in the tip (right on the very front of the ski). Im nervous that if I use them any lower, they will drag when I ski. One problem that may start to happen is that as I continue to jump, the edge and ptex will further break off.

My current plan is to strip down all of the epoxy that is sticking up, drill small holes through the inner part of the edge (every little tab) and send small screws straight through the ski to hold the edge in. After that ptex the missing base. The base will be thicker then usual when I do, but better than nothing. Then I may use a few of those washer things on the tip, to hold the new ptex from breaking off again.
