One Finger Mittens?

I've never worn one finger mittens but my guess to why they are designed like that would be it just makes it easier to do basic stuff and grip things. Also it's probably just a style thing more than anything else.

It's so you can flip people the bird. Glove designers don't have the best sense of where the middle finger is.

I found a description of the gloves and it says:

Yeah, it's a dexterity thing. It makes it easier to grip zippers, open pockets, etc, without being full on mitts, yet they would still provide more warmth than gloves.

ive always thought splitting it into 2 and 3 rather than 1 and 4 makes more sense (i.e. pointer and middle finger together, ring and pinky together)

Cycling industry brands (Bontrager, Pearl Izumi, etc) = Spock mitts.

Ski industry brands (Swany, Hestra, Pow) = Trigger finger mitts.

This is a major bitch of mine. I had to buy a pair of split mitts to ride my fatbike this winter, and the local bike/ski shop only carried cycling industry style mitts and I was in a rush to ride so I bought some. The fucking stupid thing about this, is that most people who bike, brake with only their index finger...

Alternatively, why would skiers just need one isolated finger? The dexterity gained from a spock style mitt is more than enough for skiing, and it doesn't leave your index finger out there freezing on it's own. They look more normal to, and yeah that shit matters when you're skiing obviously.

I realize that I could buy from a ski industry brand to get what I want for biking, and buy from a bike industry brand to get what I want for skiing. I just find it so backwards, that I had to waste a bunch of time ranting about it.

I get mittens because i have bad circulation and my fingers get cold. These would cause a finger to get cold thus defeating the purpose of mittens over gloves. If getting these you might as well get gloves and have all fingers be cold. I p er sonally havent found anything i cant do with my mittens

i could not disagree with you more... i have been skiing a pair of the celtek trigger mitt glove and it is perfect. this season i bought a pair of the seth pros, and they r just tits.....having the pointer finger separate from the rest of the 3 fingers gives you so much dexterity, while maintining alot of the warmth for the 3 useless fingers
