MCAT verbal reasoning

First off I'm on my phone, so there may be errors (just saying because of the thread title, it'd be ironic to have errors in my post and someone would be bound to comment on it as if that'd be clever)

Anyways, I anyone have tips on the VR section?

K so I'm writing the MCAT in about a week. and my VR scores right now are around 8-9 and id like to get them up to 10. They were about a 5 or 6 I think a few weeks ago the first time I tried. That's embarassing. Anyway, I looked at my errors and they were pretty easy to avoid making again, which improved my score pretty quick for the next tests.

So far
- what is the thesis/argument
- what is the point of what the author is saying
- don't focus on the details, just get an understanding of what the passage is about. The message it's trying to convey.

Anyway, what I'm more unsure about is my style. In other words, my tactic is to just read thoroughly, then I can usually answer the questions quickly.

Sorry this is all convoluted n stuff, I'm typing this really quick because I'm pretty busy.

Right now I'm using EK101 VR passages. Anyone have any tips, or material that helped them improve their score?

Sparknotes - did anyone have any epiphanous moments when practicing mcat VR where they found ways that helped them improve their score? If so, please share.

I just kept doing practice tests. I think that's the only thing that's going to help. You just have to get good at discerning information through writing.

I took the advice of some of the strategies and whatnot that are out there and honestly I forget what they were cause I took mine last year. It might be something that I do on my own anyway. Finding the argument was one, I recall it being hardest with passages that were about shit like 15th century women actors in some ancient place you never heard of, or passages where it looks like the author used a thesaurus to replace every word of his original writing until it sounded pompous enough for him.

It's true they wont ask you something for a pure detail cause that'd be easy, it's always going to be inferring something.

Just keep practicing.

I hope you have taken the real AAMC practice tests a week out as those are the ones that really matter for your score. Anyways, keep practicing, verbal reasoning blows, it was the hardest section for me.

On a different note, why the hell are you posting this on NSG? There are far better websites to utilize for MCAT questions.

Only done 6 or 7 total. 4 aamc practice tests and 3 ek ones.

I have 3 aamc tests left to write, and about 9 days until Study time is up. I'll be writing a full VR section everyday until then. Being either EK or aamc.

Usually I'll be getting every question right for every passage. Until I hit the odd passage where I get literally every single question wrong.

The MCAT verbal section gets everybody. I'm taking it in two weeks. Just focus less on the specific details in the passage and more on what the author is trying to convey to you (purpose, theme, etc) because details are easy to go back to the passage for
