I was watching Henrik's segment in Oil and Water. At the end of the segment when he drops that double cork off of the cliff, which was ridiculous by the way, I was annoyed to find myself being distracted by something in the background. It looks like someone built some crazy gap jump over some trees. I have no idea where this is, but it looks like several groups were building and shooting at the same time in the same place.
Anyway, this looks nuts so what other insane back country jumps have you found?
This is a cool thread, interested to see what people find.
Not necessarily skiing, but I was mountain biking at some local trails and found the most insane drop off jump. It was about 10 feet high from the ground at the end, on a 40 degree slope. If someone hit that thing it would be jump jumping off a 4 story building. Still blows my mind when I see it today
^^ I've got a similar story. Went downhilling in Quebec and stumbled upon the remnants of the world cup downhill course. One of the most insane features was a steep rock garden which then opened up into a 40 foot dirt table jump. I had no idea people could go so big after such a technical feature.
i live in pa so i really dont know and this isnt a sarcastic question. isnt it kinda disrespectful to hit other peoples features in the bc? all that hard work they put in then if any squid hits it can potentially destroy it

People will only generally hit the same jump for a couple of days.
If the jump looks well buried then sure, dig it out and hit it.
If it looks recently shaped and the in-run is still tracked out then probably not.
Wow, that thing is even crazier than I thought. The gap doesn't look as big from the top looking down. That's burly! Thanks for posting.
I am guessing this has got to be somewhere in the PNW. Building something that tall and narrow in Colorado or Utah would be next to impossible. I hope they got more than one shot of someone hitting that. Seems like a huge amount of effort for 3 seconds of video.

It was built by the pirate crew (snowb). There is a tone of footy from that zone which appears to be right next to a resort
early march, the san juan mountains, particularly Red Mountain Pass and Molas Pass, fill up with ski/snowboard productions features. It's in southwest colorado, and I grew up about an hour away. Super cool to be a young skier and see videos from features that you got to hit/notice on road trips. Stuff like Dumonts low road gap and his/sprigg's giant road gap stepdown in revolver, some of the bc jumps that harlaut had in his movie this year, some schlopy shots from matchstick's movie a few years back...the list goes on and on. I recommend anyone that has a chance get out and build some features in that area, it's entirely too sick!
