Please Help- Advice for New Laptop.

Hey NS, Im looking into a new laptop for mostly editing on CS6. Im trying to keep it under $800 but i would like to be even cheaper. Im just looking for something quick and affordable. I found a few but PLEASE RECOMMEND ME SOMETHING OR TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD AVOID.
Want:
-i7
-At least 8gb ram
-Not a huge fan of Mac buuuut..
- The laptop doesnt need to be huge 15" would be great.

Do yourself a favor and avoid HP. Every single HP product I've ever bought (laptops, printers, pendrives, etc.) has died on me in less than a year or has never worked to begin with.

There isn't a huge difference between i5's and i7's. It is more or less the clock speed. If you cheap out then your computer will already be shit in a year and you'll need a pretty powerful program to run comps out of CS6.

If you're working with CS6/CC, go with 16gigs of RAM. You'll be thankful for it if you're working on big files.

RAM has nothing to do with working on big files. The more ram yout have, their easier your computer can run multiple programs and export/rendering will be faster.

I have 8gb RAM on my '12 MacBook Pro with 256Gigs of SSD. Recently worked on video in Premiere and it ran everything else but flawless. What could be the problem then, if it isn't RAM?

Wrong, i7 is better for video because it supports hyper threading, which the i5 does not. Hyper threading gives a huge boost for things like video editing.

When I upgraded my ram from 8gb to 16gb I noticed a big difference in photoshop when working with large files, however these were panoramas of 40-60 16 megapixel raw files. With 8gb, it would sometimes crash, with 16gb it took 20 minutes to export for the exact same files, and with 16gb I could still use the laptop for other things while it was doing that.

Not all i7's have hyperthreading. That's why I said that.
