Engineering In the Industry

So I'm halfway through my sophomore year working towards that of my engineering degree and was wondering if anyone on NS has any prior experience working on the engineering side of the industry and can give me some tips on where to look and internships to pursue. Also yes I know there is the thread in the now hiring area but that's a ghost town. Thanks guys
